sorry no, I just reviewed the email exchange I had with the maker and I never asked that, he did remember the knife though...I bet if anyone is really interested in knowing, he would remember...if it makes or breaks a buy decision, let me know and I will ask him, thanks for your interest JL

Thanks John, appreciate the input...hate to see it go but my collection is moving in a very different direction, I am tempted to make it a user but then again respect your work enough to know that this one due to its history/nature holds value as a collectable that will only increase in value if kept mint...JL
