John came up with a new model, a modified wharncliff. I asked if he could do that with a 5" blade and he could. I asked for one of his Anniversary EDC models to go with it. Matching handle styles, matching materials, a beautiful set designed for my kitchen.

We talked about them on his hosted forum, JK Handmade Knives, on November 16. He shipped them out December 8 and they arrived today. Quality work, great communications, ideas, and suggestions. Can't beat that.

Buy me a camera! There will be pictures, I may play around with my Blackberry's camera.
I actually haven't had a chance to use them for anything serious yet. BUSY weekend.

John is incredible to deal with. These are Esav's new blades BTW,

I recently met with John and brought him a cardboard cutout that I was hoping I could get made into a knife. John simply said yes and two months later it was shipped. You can't beat his customer service. And his blades are wonderful working blades.

Hi Esav -

Your idea to have the modified Wharncliffe done an inch longer prompted me to order one for my kitchen use - I ordered mine in the thinner 1/16" 01 steel, as I like the thinner blade for kitchen use.

To give you an idea of what customer service is supposed to look like, here is a recent response to a question about one of his designs.

Here you go. As with any of my knives, if you need any dimensions changed, all you have to do is ask! Longer handle or blade, no problem! Thicker stock, no problem!
