JK Hiker I bought a few months back. This was the first knife I bought when I made the decision to buy an American made knife that was better quality than what I had been using most of my life.
Only selling it because I think I like a smaller knife more (mainly thanks to my Izula) for EDC and as well as camping (since I generally have a hatchet/machete).
I will be buying from John again, just smaller knives (like his EWOK), and can't wait to see what he has in 2010. John recently discontinued the Hiker model.
This Hiker's specs:
Zebrawood handle w lanyard hole is 4 1/4 in long
Blade is O1 tool steel, 4 in long, 1/8 thick, 1in wide, CONVEX EDGE.
Total length: 8 1/4 in.
Sheaths included:
Both leather and kydex sheaths, made by John. Both are excellent fits. Kydex sheath will include a large Tek Lok.
I put a patina on the blade using mustard/vinegar with a paper towel that came out quite well.
Tried my hand at putting a convex edge on it, and did pretty well, but took this knife in to be professionally sharpened so anyone buying it on here would get the highest quality. It had the convex touched up really nicely by River's Edge Cutlery of Hilliard, Ohio as of today. I took the knife and shaved about two inches of hair off of my arm right at the counter to make sure it was sharp enough! The guy there also really liked the patina job.
I have about $170 in this knife, with the extra sheath made later, Tek-Lok, all the shipping involved, and pro sharpen.
Let's try $110, shipped to CONUS. Paypal.

Thanks for looking, and thanks to John for a great knife!
