This is my review for my new JK Hudson Bay. Walnut handles and 7 inches of convex beauty.

I have been using it daily in the kitchen and while a bit thick for see-through onion slices, it chops very well. I took it outside today and chopped a green cherry tree branch to death. Then, for the heck of it I began fashioning a bow drill set. No intention of using it as it is green, but had fun nonetheless.

I chopped, batonned, and shaved with it and it performed admirably. No edge rolling or chipping at all. I am very impressed with this knife! Thanks John!

That's a nice looking knife! Glad to hear that yours is working out nicely - I absolutely love mine.

What kind of sheath do you have for yours?

All the best,

- Mike

I asked John to make one like the bushcrafter. It has plenty of reveal for ease of removal/replacement and a firesteel loop with matching firesteel. I will take a pic asap.

I like the Hudson Bay pattern, and John makes some great knives. Cool to see a knife that can be used well in the kitchen, then be taken outdoors and pounded.

Nice to see it getting some use! No pics of the "special" liners? :D
