John asked me to post some pics of my recently purchased Kephart. I got the idea for this baby from Bear, the "Enabler", as I call him. (You know I'm just teasin' ya, Bro). Oak handles, black spacers, V grind, 4.25inch blade, handle same length. I don't like anything smaller than a 4 inch handle, just my preference I guess.

I soaked the handle in this stuff I bought at Menards...it is butcher block preservative that protects the wood, but doesn't make it slippery, and it is safe with food, which I will of course be working with in my camping trips.

This review features outside pictures only. I will add food prep pics at a later date. I have a couple in-hand shots for Hollowdweller. :D

Disclaimer: I am NOT as good a photographer as Pitdog or Bear, so put your head close to the screen if you think it's fuzzy. That MAY make it better, hehehe. Also, after carving the spoon and banging the knife around, I came inside, stropped it and it shaves paper very nicely. Thanks again John, it is a great knife and great value.

Looks like good pics to me! Great looking knife also, thos black spacers look sweet!

Very nice pictures. Love the blade shape and black liners are very nice looking! The grain is very prominant.

What was the thickness and steel?

How does the guard feel - it looks a bit blocky but very secure, does it produce hotspots on the inside of the index finger?

i got to handle bear's version of this the other day, sweet knife that has a very nice hand-filling handle. nice score

Thanks for all the kind words guys.

1/8 O1. So far nothing on the finger. I haven't used it for a long time period...yet. :D

Mine doesnt iritate my finger at all. I used it for a while in the kitchen cutting meat.

Great pics man, those liners look awesome!!

Nice knife and nice pics Rockywolf! They really show off the oak's contrast w/ the black liners. Simple, purposeful and purdy.
