So, that box with blades, did you guys pick it up from Peter’s while you were there ? Just wondering

I showed up early with the others so I could watch the walkthrough where the flow of the course and each station is explained, including how the station has to be completed to earn the points. There is no standard, the hosting venue gets to set some of these rules so Brad from Peters took a few liberties making some cuts pretty precise, like cutting the little water bottles in half through the label only, giving each competitor a 3/4” target to hit, it proved to be very difficult for everyone.

Bennie hogging off the first 2x4 to start his run. Notice Dan Keffeler, hard not to, watching, judging, watching, yep, the other competitors become judges watching for you to make a mistake, like a foot fault, which penalizes you points. It’s not just about the cutting, you really have to pay attention to a lot more.

Here’s yoko cutting through the second set of water bottles, these had to be cut vertically in half but you couldn’t cut any part of the cap if you wanted the points to count. Great job! (Dan watching, judging, watching lol)

Jo had a smile on her face the entire day and she was great talking with us fans about our CPK’s!

When the competition was done with, it’s back to hanging out and everyone got a lesson on the 2x4 chop from Dan and Dave. Big Hands Dave was a lot of fun to talk with and watch obliterate some of the obstacles. It’s very cool to see how competitive yet friendly the cutters are, it’s a great community of knife lovers.
