Please read all of this description before commiting to purchase this knife:
Here is an awesome Sambar Stag Backpocket knife from Joe Allen. The Bose influence is obvious! This beauty features a satin belt finished ATS-34 (marked on reverse) blade with hand-rubbed finish on the flats to show off the gorgeous lines. It is wicked sharp too with incredibly symmetrical grinds. The backspring is flush in all three blade positions and the tension is just right, not too hard, not too soft. The blade is well centered, no problems anywhere as far as functioning is concerned. Fabulous action and blade tension.
Joe has worked quite a bit under the guidance Tony Bose and the influence is obvious on the blade grind and the pattern itself as well as the attention to detail. Joe consistently makes the best nail pulls I've ever seen! This knife also has a milled/relieved liners and 410 Stainless bolsters and liners. Great fit in the hand. Joe's work is among the best and the price is right too. 4 1/2" Closed, 7 7/8" open.
Joe completed this knife for me recently, but in the final fitting of the stag a small crack appeared on the underside of the stag. The crack is not near any pins or the tube, however. Joe agreed to make me another one which is due any day and also offered me this one at a greatly reduced price. Joe believes this surface crack in the stag is stable because of it's location and he truly believes it will never cause a problem if the knife is used. If the crack ever worsens, Joe has agreed to return the purchase price to the PRESENT owner. Understand this is the only option Joe will grant, however, Since Joe greatly reduced the price on this knife to me. Joe will NOT REMAKE THE KNIFE if a problem develops with the stag (UNLIKELY), he will only give a refund.
This will make a great user or even a nice piece for your collection if you can live with the cosmetic blemish in the stag.
SOLD shipped, paypal included. International okay, but add $25 for shipping and understand I have no control once it leaves the U.S.
I will also consider other Joe Allen knives for trade, particularly a Saddlehorn.
First one to say they want it gets it. Respond by PM, Post or Email. Email responses intermittent through the work day.
Thanks
