Joe H, Larry O, Richard M, 110 Question

Joe will have to address the warranty issues with knives modified after they leave Buck. As far as the actual modifications goes I see three variations:
*Those that Buck contracted for that are sold by Buck which include some catalog or special project knives from Yellowhorse, Prater, Aurum etc.
*Those that are modified in quantity from skeletons or stock knives provided by Buck and sold/marketed by Yellowhorse, etc.
*Those that are commissioned for modification by the knife owner from custom knifemakers such as Yellowhorse, Remer, etc.
For historical purposes I am most interested in those of the first category but I track some of the others because I don't know if they are Buck projects or not.
As far as my list goes, Joe, Larry and I have copies which I have asked the others not to duplicate. I am holding a copyright on the data I have developed, subject to others interest, for future publication possibilities. To date I have a couple of thousand hours in research and over $10,000 in out of pocket cost invested so I don't give away this information. We will however answer specific questions about specific projects if we know the answer. Hope that helps.

The October 2011 issue of Knife World carried a front page article on a couple that did etchings on Buck knives in the 70's and 80's.
