Joe Kious Subhilt Boot Knife - Mel Wood Engraving

Originally designed by collector Curt Truell, the "Stormbringer" was made by two or three makers back in the 80's for Truell's collection. I have only seen two engraved ones by Kious. Ray Cover, Sr also made several of this model, but not embellished as were those by Kious.

I myself have owned four or five of this pattern over time, but by Ray Cover, Sr, all of which were unengraved. This Kious sets a new standard, in my mind, for this gem of a dagger pattern. I am told by David Broadwell that typically, the Kious model was embellished as with this one, but that Ray Cover, Sr subhilt boots of this type were not.

While this "Stormbringer" design is evocative of the 80's for alot of early collectors, it's styling is very, very NOW!!
