Joe,

On the 532 thread you mentioned that among your personal collection of 532 knives were olderones that employed the Sawby locking mechanism.

I plead guilty to having thought that the Sawby was simply a term for a midlock. would you please describe what the Sawby lock was / is? The advantages / disadvantages. And why it was removed from the 532.

Thanks!

Bald1,
Look at two threads: double-ended double
lockback posted 7/12 and Bucklocks, who, what
... posted 8/1.
These two threads should give you the info you seek.

! I kinda feel like a boob (no comments Greg <heheheh>!). I don't know how I missed those threads. I spend a lot of time here on BFC and try to keep up with the huge volume every day. Obviously I'm not hitting it all. That and I've been using the "Today's threads" option. Oh well.
Sure do appreciate the assist. Both your and CJ Buck's posts really cleared things up for me.

You know, i gotta figure out how to get clonned. I spend all day answering questions from our web page and rarely get into the forums.
I did not read the other threads that Larry mentioned so this may be old news but...
There are only 5 532's with the Sawby lock, they were each hand made prototypes. We discontinued the line before this model made it to production.
Hope this was interesting?
