All I can say is WOW! I don't tend to believe everything I hear (or read), hell I usually don't believe any of it, but I don't see him getting out of this looking anything but dirty. Maybe he'll be replaced by Turtleman (he saw "combat" at 9 when he shot Bigfoot with his .22 rifle):D. Teti can crash on OJ's couch for a while. ...Or, Discovery can pull its head out of its a$$ and put Cody and Matt together. Actual survival without artificial drama, I'd watch every episode.

Every reality show is contrived. And eventually that contrived "reality" breaks down. Every time. Some just take longer than others.
 
Yes and no...

Naked and Afraid while not "great" in any real respect did show the effects of exposure, energy expanded keeping fires going constantly with only two people who are underfed(effectively worst thing you could ever try to do in a survival situation unless no other options at all existed for thermal control), and the importance of a container for boiling water over even a knife in most environments. It also showed object lessons about drinking untreated water.

I believe things always exist that you can learn from these shows... The question is really are they effective teaching mediums in regards to information learned and time spent watching, no, but they are entertaining.

One of the most entertaining parts of survival shows is when a poor chump is trying to hunt and the Camera crew follow behind... I couldnt ever find anything like that... ever
The crew are likely wearing high visibility clothing, making a massive ruckus and I am just waiting for the day some guy has the courage to turn around and go "WOULD YOU KINDLY FUCK OFF!".
 
The shows are contrived. Essentially they compress possble survival situations into a very short time.

This last linked article was really negative towards Teti. I doubt that life will go on as before for him. My suspicion is that most of it is true. The check thing really bothers me. If he ever had any elevated regard in my mind, it's gone now. He's dishonest and a crook. Dishonestly carries into all facets of your life and the choices you make. There is no way for example that I would consider buying anything with Teti's name on it. You could say that this article was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Teti is the one who wanted to bring it all out in a court room. He'll get the attention he wanted. Just not the kind he wanted.

Regarding the article, my suspicion is that it is all true.
