Joe X Jamokee On Youtube

You know, I generally don't like destruction vids. What I do like about Joe is that he never seems to equate him breaking a knife with any overly made up scenario where the knife is deemed useless because it won't hold up to being slammed edge first against a stone 47 times. Then again, about all I can understand between the gas mask and the times he speeds up the videos is "Look at this F$^%#% $ht!!"

I watched him thrash a Marauder, and I was actually super impressed how well the thin AUS8 held up. I purchased mine fully serrated as a defensive weapon, but I have no doubt that it would hold up to anything like that given what it took before breaking. Yes, the stone killed it, but that stone kills everything. What surprised me was how well the thin tip held up to the car steel. For a knife designed to be used as more of a weapon than a tool, THAT'S what I want to see it handle.

Any knife made by any company in the whole world would break by the hands of Joe X.

I think it is interesting to compare Joe X's video on the Luzon to other Cold Steel knives. It really shows how bad the Luzon is comparatively.
Only if you go out of your way to ignore the price point and design goals of the Luzon.

Otherwise you're comparing toothpicks to pungee sticks unironically.

I told Joe X in a Youtube comment that Cold Steel has a big selection of mysterious 4034 SS that's being hyped, and that there is a lot of controversy on the forums and throughout the community about this steel, and asked if he would be willing to test it out on a larger blade, such as the Kukri or Natchez bowie, etc.

Seems like he's tested everything but this new 4034 SS from Cold Steel. That's the one test from him I would really like to see.

I like his over the top/unrealistic tests cause they give you a general idea of what the limits of the knife in question are, which of course oftentimes take little to nothing away from the knife's actual value considering you're not gonna be planting your knife 3'' deep into wood and pry it, or slam it against bricks or hell even shoot it with a glock. So I'd say he's interesting for the pure aspect of entertainment and novelty. His opinions on the various knives he reviews are quite irrelevant and devoid of most (meaningful) value tho, considering he uses them for anything but to cut stuff.

At first, I was a naysayer myself, but he reminds me of Noss years back with his testing. I like the fact that we now know just how tough certain knives are. 👍

Maybe this JoeX clown can join up with Sticky and T-Rip .

New name suggestion = T-Rash ! 😒

That's entertainment! I'm impressed how tough these knives are, and haw much abuse they can handle.
But how many megatons of nuclear weapons can a 4" Voyager tanto take?

I don't really mind that he does his so-called "tests" but to declare a knife is basically garbage based on what he does is pretty far out there.
I watched "Joe X"'s video on the Bk9 and Bk7. He seems to have a serious hard on for anyone with a Becker because he sure seems to hate them. Bashing knives against steel poles edge first, hitting them with large rocks and bashing them on huge chunks of concrete aren't something any knife is going to hold up to long. Oh, and if you have a Becker, you are a "fanboy," because apparently he has proven with his very scientific, reasonable and highly objective "tests" that they are no good. And 1095 is bad for any large blade, even 7 inch. From what I've read in the comments, if anyone calls him on something, he and his merry band of followers descend on them. I don't mind the tests and maybe they even serve some function, but you can break any knife if you want to. Claiming a knife is bad because of the "tests" he does is like like getting high before a quiz, failing, and then blaming the quiz for your failure.

after watching his vids im throwing all my knives out they must be junk
Yep. I don't know where all these thousands of people who like Becker knives get off putting them through years and years of hard use batoning and cutting wood and brush and such, and calling them good. If they would hit them with giant rocks and bash heavy steel poles with the blade like they are supposed to, they would see most knives with good reputations are *actually* garbage. 🙄
(🐂+💩).

LOL! You forgot to mention tossing each knife out of a helicopter into a live volcano🤡

On a side note, my next fixed blade is going to be the Becker BK18 (Harpoon blade with black coating).

how does the bk18 hold up with joe x
I don’t know if he tried to destroy a BK18, But every other standard review I’ve seen has been great….everyone seems to love it. I stopped watching his destruction vids after seeing maybe 2 of them. They’re so over the top and I feel have little real- world value, IMHO.

Love the harpoon! That and the Becker Necker. The Eskobar is cool, too. The harpoon has a great point for defense, and the blade can be used for much of the utility and food prep you might use a Mora for. Personally, I'd rather keep the harpoon for defense. And looking damn sexy! (The blade, not me).

After a recent thread here about the failure of an sr1 lite, which is nonsense, his latest video grossly abuses an AD10, and towards the end he hammers it into a piece of wood, pulls on it beaks the tip .Hammers it again, pulls up on it,blade snaps. After that he doesnt recommend it because the tip broke too easily. Its morons like this that will scare away novices from a good knife because they think it will break too easily. Thats why i hate these videos. It gives a good knife a bad name.

It just means more AD10's for those of us who know better ;)
