I've really only used the "cage" portion of the rack about twice on some huge camping trips. If you are only getting it for the canoe, the two tube system works great. You may be able to pic some up, or just get portions of the rack systems and have a welder rig your own. Think ahead of time though, if you are ever going to take more than one canoe. You may want to make tough to hold alot of weight.
 
having been a jeep owner (cherokee and wrangler) ill never own another.. toyota tacoma all the way.. far better built and the 4X4 capab. is the same if not (imo) better.
