the larger one is still available, also note that it has
a tapered tang, the spine at the guard is approximate .20" thick
solid knife!

When handling this knife, it has a very solid feel about it, old timey ruggedness
is what springs to mind, almost cowboy like rugged

Question regarding the guard, no pun intended
But it's a very comfortable guard, providing excellent protection
and at the same time not harming the user with any sharp edges
as some knives are wont to do, depending on the make and style
