John DF's Christmas Slip GAW

Not an entry just joining the fun. My son and I made this “Christmas Cabin” together when he was in 4th grade, he is now a freshman in college. It was so much fun to make and it has adorned our mantle every Christmas since, and hopefully for many yet to come. 🎅👍View attachment 1697631
Very cool cabin, Todd, that takes me back to my own elementary school days! 🤓 🤓 I remember doing a LOT of popsicle stick art projects in grade school: jewelry box with lid, some kind of Christmas manger thing (not as nice as you guys' cabin, though), a drawing with a popsicle stick frame are some that I still remember. I think we had art class in our little 3-room (grades 1 & 2 in the "little" room, grades 3-5 in the "middle" room, and grades 6-8 in the "big" room) school every Friday afternoon, at least in grades 1-5, and I remember at least one chalk drawing project sometime in grades 6-8 where we made a sketch on 2' x 3' paper of a scene off a greeting card we selected, and then framed it with a real wood frame. Many of the art projects I remember ended up being Christmas or birthday presents for parents. I was pretty bad at most of them, and that was especially apparent when my brother closest in age to me would be in the same room at school as me (him in grade 3 while I was in grade 5, and him in grade 6 when I was in grade 8) and we'd each be doing our own version of whatever the art project was. He was just way better with his hands than I'll ever be! (Have to admit I was pretty proud of my chalk drawing, though, especially after my Mom had it hanging on a wall in the house for many years. 😲 😁 )

Our daughter NEVER did any kind of popsicle stick art when she was in school back in the 90s. :(

Thanks for sharing those memories Gary. We have so many ornaments it’s impossible to put them all on the tree, but it’s the ones the kids made that always find their way on the tree every year. Like Leon cudgee cudgee said, it’s what Christmas is about. 😊

Found this on page #4 of the forum so I guess it's run its course.
I took a screen shot of the winning number, but my hosting site isn't working.
Anyways, the winning post was #45, so the winner was sbh06 sbh06 , who entered for BDubbs BDubbs
Congratulation to BDubbs BDubbs , I will message you for your shipping information and try to get it out tomorrow.

We set up the tree and the stockings this past weekend. Our house looks so much better with Christmas decorations. The rest of the year it looks a little empty.

Congratulations BDubbs BDubbs . I’m looking forward to seeing that slip in use.

JohnDF JohnDF I’ve been admiring your slips and was inspired to make one one of my own. I’ll post mine when I’m done.

Amazing generosity again with this month's slip and bonus knife, John. I am confident that BDubbs BDubbs will enjoy the slip as much I do mine.

thanks John!
You are very welcome.
I will try to get it mailed today. 🙃

Congrats on having your number drawn, and for showing Porch generosity by entering for somebody else. 🤠

Since it's Chritmas season, dare I say. Is this considered a re-gift? 🤣
Just kidding, outstanding craftsmanship and generosity x 2.
