Hi everyone,
I wanted to give a little shout out to an incredible gentleman and maker. When i first saw this thread http://http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1119592-***NICE-damscus-hunter-with-damascus-fittings-and-buckeye-burl*** I loved the look of the knife and set about to find a little more information on this John Doyle fella and some reviews of his knives . There wasn't a whack of info out there, so perhaps this will give some of you a bit more confidence in him and his products.
I received that knife in the mail today, and just as John promised me, those photos don't do it justice. His fit and finish and craftsmanship are as good as anything that I've ever seen, and I consider myself to be a very picky person. He was happy to take the time to answer all of my questions (some that i asked twice having forgotten that i asked and had already been answered), and work with me on the sheath design. All in all, all i can say is that i hope someday to have the $ to add another of his functional pieces of art to my belt.
Oh, and the damn thing is really sharp too! One of the finest edges from a maker that I've ever had. Its definitely on par with my Phillip Patton's which, to me, says something!
Now I have a dilemma every time i head out into the woods Which knife to put on the belt Good problems to have!!!
Thanks again John!
Erik
