John Greco knives

I have one of the .200 flat-ground clip-point Whispers. A little lighter than the other I had (discontinued model from '97 or so), but somehow I would prefer a bit thinner stock for a much lighter, faster fighter, much easier to carry concealed for extended periods. A fighter needn't be as thick as a field knife. Also, I removed & sandblasted the scales- better grip.
All in all, I love his designs- he builds a very robust, knife that performs well & he delivers it at a more-than-reasonable price point. And he's a genuinely nice guy. I like to own knives made by folks with whom I've had at least one conversation, brief or otherwise. Puts a little extra "something" in the knife. Also, the folks @ CQC are good to work with.

I have the Recon, Love the balance, would prefer a thicker handle, very easy to sharpen ( use DMT Diamond ), even grind lines, good balance.

Cons:-

A bit rough on the edges, the coating is very fragile, very thick grinds.

Overall, its a keeper.

The sheath is great, and the blades are great for the kind of money.
One tough knife and a good knifemaker backing it up.
Mine was not sharpened well (apparently John was working 14 hours straight on those) and missed a step or two and he fixed it up when he got it.
