John in Boise

I'm very excited and will post first impressions. Uncle Bill said he would mail it, priority, yesterday or Monday, so it should be here before the end of the week. He'll also be glad to know that I can pay for it about the same time it gets here. ;-)

There's just something about hand forged blades. Once you get used to the symmetry and detail that matches instead of the lack of perfect evenness like off of a CNC made sterile knife that human hands barely touched, you may get a "rush".

It's like discovering the handle of your new knife has a USB port that plugs into the palm of your hand. When I picked up the 12" sirupati I've named 'Audrey' ( after the carniverous plant in "Little Shop of Horrors" that kept saying "feed me" ), I had the sense if I were scared with her on my hip I'd be standing over a body wondering how Audrey got into my hand and how did that blood get all over her?

That doesn't happen often. Mostly it takes time and work with the khuks to start the bonding process. And some let you know they belong to some other person they'll meet down the road.

My 12" AK is my go every where knife. It has grown on me so much that I feel naked without it. Sarge says the 12" Siru. was a worker and I know this one is. I can't think of another 12 inch knife that can out do the HI 12" knives.

And yes, they will start talking to you in all kinds of ways.:)
