John Powell is a pal and HI customer. He started collecting khukuris in Viet Nam before there was such a thing as Himalayan Imports. Only a couple of these khukuris are HI models -- the rest have been picked up here and there over the years. The last few acquistions were made in England. John goes a far piece to add a piece to his wall!

It is an enviable collection and nicely displayed. I hope it inspires some visitors to start their own!

Please note the Gurkha hat.

Absolutely disgusting!! John, I bet you have your own gun shop, cigar storage room and wine cellar to. Is this my future that I see?

That was a very impressive collection to say the least. Bill any chance of seeing yours? Do you display your collection is a similar fashon?

I keep my collection under the bed! And, I do not have as many as John. I hand onto only those I feel I can't get replaced.

If you take a look at John's collection the bottom blade on the third line from right is one I'd like to have. It is 1810=1820 era and is in good condition.

Greetings,

Listen to this one. While your wife, girlfriend, husband, boyfriend, significant other etc. is in an adjoining room, bring up the picture of John Powell's collection on the monitor.
Now this part is very important. You must keep a perfectly straight face.
Lovingly escort your "honey" by the arm ,show them JP's Mega collection, and say"
Now THAT'S how my den wall is gonna look in a few months!!!!!

Maximum shock value is rendered if you only have one khukuri, and your "sweetie" has been waiting for a ...................

Now there is a goal to shoot for. Have to show my wife that picture the next time she says that I have to many knives!
Hi Bill; good to see you on this side of the forums also.

Thanks Greg and Phil for good ideas on how to convince the better half concerning the need of having a few knives around the house.

John has other knives that are not displayed.

I refuse to take ANY responsibility for the treasured sanctity of your treasured relationships because of my treasures. I hope you enjoy my wall and hope that Bill will start posting more of his beauties soon, and COBALT, thankyou so much for that poignant and astute comment. Disgusting is one of my good traits!

You are a funny man, John, in addition to being disgusting and a home wrecker and one of my favorite people.
