John W. Smith LDC-5 folder for trade

I have a John W. Smith LDC-5 liner lock folder with beadblasted titanium bolsters, black G-10 handle scales, and a handrubbed ATS-34 clip point blade for trade. The LDCs are a series of tactical folders made by a number of makers exclusively for sale through Les Robertson. The LDC-5 is the larger model of the two that John made, and with a 3/16" thick blade and liners that I would estimate at about .080", it is a big, beefy folder that is ready to go to work. These were made in a limited run; I don't know how many were made, but this one is #26.

The LDC-5 listed here appears to have been carried lightly, but it does not appear to ever have been used before, and the original edge on it from John is sharp. There are a few light carry marks on the bolsters and a couple of light scratches on the clip, all of which should be visible in the pics below. The blade appears pristine. The opening action is very smooth, the lock-up is rock solid, and the blade centering is just about dead perfect.

There were 50 of each LDC model made. The first 25 were only sold as part of complete sets. The second 25 were available individually.

I believe that some of the knives didn't even reach 50 pieces as some makers didn't finish all of their allotment. I don't know if LDC-5 was one of those, but the max possible made was 50.
