John White, Kyle Royer - a pair of fighters from Little Rock

Great scores, Roger!!!!

And they would fit so well along with some of mine! Dang, we share a very similar sense of aesthetics with regards to this style! :D

Thanks for posting these up, Roger, and for getting Coop to do his thing. Paul's understated sheath, with that Java Lizard insert, really sets the little fighter off, and notice how Coop laid out the photo to show the "Bowtie."

I also think that's one of Kyle's best to date, with many more to come!

Didn't we all have fun in Arkansas?

John

Congrats Roger! Those are both exceptionally nice. As always Paul's sheaths enhance the look of the knives. Especially the one for Kyle's masterpiece.

That pair was really a joy to work with. I have come to expect this quality from both these talented makers, and they surely did not disappoint this time!

Thanks, to all for the kind words about the sheaths. The inlays and overlays are not reptile because we wanted Canadian customs to be at ease when they crossed the border. The Royer piece has a pair of dark brown Shark skin chevron overlays and the White fighter has an inlay of black Ostrich leg taken from the side of the leg so it does very much resemble lizard.

.....and the Little rock show was too much fun! Every body needs to plan to attend next year.

Paul

I've been drumming my fingers awaiting the safe delivery for a week now. BIG breath of relaxation.

I also found them as captivating as all of you have allowed

The kind of knives that give you the feeling of classic
knife design perfection...
And the photography brings this out well!
I completely agree with DDD's concise summary, and it's so true. Nothing to bowl you over with, but BOY do they have great lines. Also, thanks for the kind words. :)

Much appreciation to Roger for the opportunity, and all you guys for the props.

(Yes. Paul Long = MY Hero.) :D

Coop

Excellant pair of fighters from top notch makers...really like both a lot. Great size, great lines, fit and finish one would expect.

Paul has dressed both to compliment each fighter well. Awesome pair to add to the collection!

Damn, Roger, you have crazy good taste in knives my friend

Really cool of you to have them shot by Coop and then posted here for the rest of us to enjoy as well. Thanks for that :)

Roger called me tonight and we had a great visit looking at and talking about knives. It is great to have this friend able to show me some many great knives over the years. These two are exceptional. First I looked at the John White and it is another wonderfully done knife. Very interesting pattern, great balance and fantastic grind lines and bevels. Kyle out did himself with a knife that is perfectly balanced and the handle is perfect and is a joy to hold. The softness of the material just is beyond what an image can translate and I think Roger wondered if I would ever return it to him. I knew his wife was waiting so I reluctantly gave it back but only after asking dibs. Roger has a great eye for knives and I'm glad we are close to each other and can share our hobby. Oh, he did rather enjoy the Wolfe that can be seen in RL's CKG thread and in the CKCA "show your knives" section of forums.

Thanks very much for the comments, guys, and thanks again to John, Kyle, Paul and Coop.

Gary it was good meeting you in Little Rock, too. I certainly plan to return.

Jim - I was drumming, too - but mostly just out of impatience. Even when things move slowly, as long as I have tracking and can "see" where the knife is at on its journey, I'm not panicked. Customs must have liked these knives as much as the rest of us - they kept them for four days.

By the way - did anyone else notice that in the Royer shots, the guard / handle in the foreground of the first pic is "completed" by the butt cap/ handle shot in the second? Looks like the knife travels from one photo to the other. Fluke or plan? Too very cool either way.

Paul - I think you matched each sheath to its knife just perfectly. The ostrich on the White looks great and is something I would definitely like to use again in the future.

Murray - yes I "rather enjoyed" that Loerchner folder. Completely blown away is more like it.  Enjoyed the visit.

I was going to come back and mention that, and I hadn't read your post. Completely unplanned. It's simply good karma. :D

Hi Mr. Pinnock,

I am glad to hear the the knives have made it to you safely.

I hope you get enjoyment out of your new knife for as long as you have it! It was great doing business with you.

Mr. White, That damascus is just too cool!!!

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Roger, I always enjoy looking at the knives you choose for your collection. Whatta great looking pair of knives to snag.

Those are both extremely nice knives. That bow tie damascus is really something. The Royer knife is first rate eye candy. The sheaths are beauties as well.

Really Excellent work by Both Makers
John that pattern is too cool what do you call it?
and Kyle ..Woah!

Thanks again for the comments guys.
