John White MS Persian Fighter WIP

OUTSTANDING Jim! It was an extreme pleasure to see such a great project documented and posted from start to finish.

Thanks and CONGRATS to you as the owner, and to John White and Joe Mason for showing some impressive skills.

Thanks,
Peter

I think the damascus pattern picked out for this persian style blade it just a awesome compliment! excellent work!!

Everything is perfect on this blade. I know its personal but do you care to throw a price range out there?

Jim that is a fantastic piece on all accounts from the wonderful work of Mr White to the fantastic leather and photography.

Congrats

Gorgeous knife!! John, how do you peen those pins over without messing up the ivory? I am going to have to do that on a couple of knives for the Belgian and show and trial and error can get expensive with that stuff. LOL Also, did you use hidden pins to secure the frame/spacer in place? Thanks
Jim,

Thanks again for prompting me towards something a little different. All us makers like having great patrons such as you!

In that vein, the sketch of of knife and scales was a result of lots of input from Jim, and several back and forth revisions. That's what is the best part of working with a client to come up with a truly "custom" design.

Joe's engraving has been a huge part of several projects for me, and this one shows why for sure.

Paul's sheathes are always an addition, and in this case, the perfect "Persian" overlay really fits the theme.

Buddy's photo speaks for the piece. He brings it to life for everyone to see as he sees it.

We're supposed to be having fun at this, and working with Jim, Joe, Paul, and Buddy is what makes it so for me.

John

What a pleasure and honor it was for me to be afforded the opportunity to photograph this wonderful creation. The collaboration between John White, Joe Mason and Paul Long - fueled and funded by custom knife patron Jim Treacy - is a fine example of what is possible when vision, desire and passion unite! One cannot help but be impressed - humbled even, as I certainly was. My only regret is that now I must send this Persian beauty on to Jim. :(

Special thanks to Coop who helped me rescue my computer from a self-inflicted snafu just in time to complete this project!

That is very nice Good call on the ivory and the maker thanks for the WIP pics John and JJtJr

Thanks guys for all of the positive comments.

I want to thank Joe Mason for the great engraving, Paul Long for the beautiful sheath and Buddy Thomason for the dramatic photo that really shows this knife at its best.

It is always a pleasure to work with John White. John puts alot of thought into any project before he starts working. He sent me all of these WIP photos as he was making the knife they really show the different steps involved and also whet the appetite for getting the knife. His fit and finish is always perfect. I look forward to doing this again in the future.

Thanks John.
