This is from a bona fide scotch hater. I will never touch tequila again and scotch was #2 on the list. You all know what burns permanent horrible memories into your prefrontal cortex. And you never really forget that. Well I can tell overdoing it with the JWB could hurt a man just as everything else. But this mixture is a masterpiece. Love it. Stronger than my usual 100 proof vodka, but dang I just spent 200.00 and have no regrets!
 
yup, blue is great. Try Green, I always tell everyone that it is nearly as good at 1/3 the price.
 
Is this (Scotch) something that you liked the first time you tried it or is it an acquired taste? I thought it was like gargling with kerosene. Of course I did not try any $200 a bottle blue. I did however try a single malt that received pretty good reviews. I see folks on this forum talking like it was as good as a chocolate milk shake.
 
I'd have to say it's an acquired taste. It takes time to appreciate the tastes, subtle and not, past the burn of alcohol.

Didn't grab me as fast as Busse did...but once I got used to it, the addiction hit pretty hard.

And all those trips to the UK just enabled the disease.

yah, I did. I heard the Dallas Cheer leaders were going to be there to participate, so I figureI'd give them a challenge.
 
Im going cheap now,... OJ and Rum at the moment-
I don't think i'll ever graduate to liquid fire...
but if i ever see it around, i just may give her a try...

Hey, you realize we need to dress like womens for this contest, so I say we get Amy style wigs, Marlboro cigarette packs and coors label T-shirts. Then we can invite the cheerleaders to your room for pizza and beer night. :thumbup:
 
I think its somewhat of an acquired taste, my father let me try lil tidbits here an there as a kid, and I am sure that helped. Now I like trying different ones and keep a healthy stock of some of my favs and a few new ones. JW Blue is a def fav of mine but I agree Green is Good. I love gold, not as much a red fan but a def. Black fan.
 
well dang it. I just drank half a fifth of the blue. My girl just asked me if I should be typing, 100.00 in the system, no problem. Oh yeah, she just reminded me that I punched the outside light on the way in. Bloody knuckle. It was a preemptive strike. Four guys behind us was moving in and talking amongst themselves, until a I took the light out...........Later, guys
 
Blue is good, but I must say that for the money, there are HUNDREDS of single malts that I would buy. That said, I almost always have a bottle around in the house. I like the green as well. Blue and Green I drink neat, and tend to just have a dram or two. The black is my on the rocks drunk-getter, and I've been known to knock off a bottle in a long night, usually with some help (to varying degrees) from a friend or two.
 
I sorta agree with cobalt. I tried the Blue last weekend. I didn't think it was better than the green, just different. At $160 I probably wouldn't buy it for my collection.

ooops. I'll go measure now. Ok, if skunk doesn't ship me #500, I will just have to go get my satin Birds Beak Ghost SHBM and have you add a #501 to it.
