Johnnie Walker Blue

I tried Black a couple nights ago. I really hope Green and Blue are that different from it. I really didn't care for it, and I do see why it is not readily compared to Bourbon/Whiskey. I have to admit though, it's fun trying these different fluids. I have discovered some very fine Rums in my search for what's named in these Scotch sodden threads. If anyone is interested, Pyrat and Cockspur are fine indeed.

Is this (Scotch) something that you liked the first time you tried it or is it an acquired taste? I thought it was like gargling with kerosene. Of course I did not try any $200 a bottle blue. I did however try a single malt that received pretty good reviews. I see folks on this forum talking like it was as good as a chocolate milk shake.

I don't like scotch at all. Period. It's just not my kind of drink. I hate the burn, taste, aftertaste and hangover. With The JWBlue, I had very little burn, a very subtle taste and aftertaste. And almost no hangover after drinking at least 1/3 of a fifth.

I am in the same boat xanax. I didn't find anything about it that I liked. Made me curious why I thought it sucked but others rave about how good it is. Even some posts from first time samplers that really liked it. So does that mean you still don't like Scotch period? Now you are going to make me go back and read this post to see what the Blue costs.....
I grew tired of Tequila after many a hangover from it. Of course that's totally my fault for over doing it "a bit". Now I don't really even like the smell of Jose'. Tried Patron and see a world of difference. Could be the same scenario I suppose. I bet someone would be a gent and take it off my hands if I bought it and didn't like it!!!

Edit, Ok, I went back and read the posts again. You like the Blue and its a couple of bills. NEVER MIND>>>>>>

I didn't have to acquire a taste for the JWB. Crown is like gasoline compared to the blue. I won't buy another bottle for quite a while due to the cost, and the next bottle will be the green. I also have most of a bottle of black to finish off also. The next bottle of blue will be sipped slowly like it's meant to be consumed, in a nice crystal tumbler. Not out of a Busse shot glass. And just a little at a time. Anyway it is great stuff. And the box it comes in is pretty impressive once it is opened up. It Will Make a great display IMHO.

Why develop the taste for scotch when Crown Royal is good from the start?

Edmond Ok eh? Well if you like Crown, you might want to try 18yr old Wiser. I prefer it to Crown and it is much cheaper. I know it can be bought there locally as I have a buddy (former knife dealer. there I said something about knives in this thread) from Edmond and he bought some there. Check it out. I don't intend to work to acquire a taste for any liquor and certainly not at Blue prices. INFI is bad enough!
