This thread will be a place to showcase your traditional Johnny Stout knives, which are some of the finest slipjoints available, IMO and Johnny is one of the nicest guys you could meet in the knife world.
Here is a Zulu spear that Johnny is just finishing up for me. I sent Johnny some mosaic feather pattern damascus from my friend, and top tier knifemaker, ABS Master Smith Jon Christensen. This was a piece of damascus that I had seen many times sitting with some scrap damascus in Jon's toolbox. This is a mosaic leaf damascus that was cleaved in half and welded back up, it was a wider piece so we don't see as many of the leaves on this blade, but they can be seen toward the top edge, before the nail nick. The bolsters are Mike Tyre feather pattern that have been polished with the filing in the bolster left with a darker etch, by my request, as is the proud pin. The scales are some fine, natural Sambar stag, which is becoming harder and expensive to obtain. Closed length should be around 4.25, based on Tony's Zulu pattern. Johnny still has some finishing work to do on it and it will be in the mail on Friday. I will update with pics and thoughts.
Here is another(not mine) that really shows Johnny's talent. This piece won best folder on the CKCA forum.
Here is some rare cocobolo burl that I sent Johnny that we will use for a Loveless drop point fixed blade. It was originally slated for the Zulu, but we decided stag would look best.
