Thanks Kris, I'm glad you like it. Those are some good close-ups that you took, it really shows of the knife.

Here is one I built a while back, thought I'd share it on here.

That Zulu came out terrific! I love the filework and the finish looks perfect:thumbup:

Thanks for the compliments, and thanks again to Johnny for the fine knife. Hope to see more of his top shelf work posted here.

Have a nice evening,

These knives remind me of the ivory inlaid and almost everywhere engraved firearms of the past. Not that today we dont have wonderful art pieces, but the older style firearms seem to have the same spirit these knives do. Very exquisite, something I would expect to see in a musuem!

Here is a recent stag handled Gunstock I built for a client...it took me a while to really get hooked on this model, but now it's one of my favorites.

Super clean Johnny, nice swedge grinds and long pulls. That would look as good in stag as it would in tortoise shell. I always remember Mark Strauss having an incredible gunstock collection for those who love the pattern.

Beautiful Zulu Spear Kris. I am glad to see some more of Jonny's work showing up too. Thanks Jonny. There is a reason Jonny gets so many awards in the best folder category at shows. Great stuff.

Killer Zulu Kris and Johnny! Love the "feel" of this one...it just gives you that old, worn, look as if it already has many stories to tell. Kuddos to you both!

It seems that the interest in Slippies these days continues to grow daily. You don't see a lot of this model out there, but here is one of a custom Barlow I built for a client.

Johnny, that is a beauty and unusual blade selection. Is that a integral bolster and liner? I like how the file work changes from the liner to bolster. Thanks for sharing Jim's fine pic.

Kris, yes the bolsters/liners are integral. The blade selection was the clients choice. Normally the larger blade would be the main blade. Here is a picture of another unusual one, a custom Peanut I made for a client.

Such impressive work! I love the splintered look that the pivot pin has on your Zulu Kris. You know I'll be waiting for pics of the Loveless DPH with that cocobolo burl on there!!

I like very much the peanut, specially because of the wharncliffe. Does it have half-stop on the blades ? Do you prefer half-stop or non-half-stop ?
Stefan

Stefan, it has half stops on both blades. I build all my slipjoints with half stops, although they aren't necessarily for everyone. I think I've had a couple of requests over the years build one with a round tang.

I have really grown to appreciate Johnny as a knife maker and a friend. I just got off the phone with him, asking if he would take an order. Not just any order, but a split spring sowbelly whittler! He was a little reluctant, it is an extremely hard pattern, but said he would do it for me. Bill Ruple had one in KC this year(that won at Blade) and it was just magnificent. Bill had it engraved and said he would not sell it, but by the end of the day, an amount around 5,000$ changed his mind. My knife from Johnny will sport damascus blades(clip main, pen and coping secondaries) with burl wood covers and a damascus umbrella shield. I am very much looking forward to this. Thanks Johnny
