Joined the CKCA!!!

I have greatly enjoyed my time with the CKCA. Everyone is great and easy to talk to. If you ever have a question this is the place to ask. Since I joined in late 2008 my direction of collecting has turned 180 degrees and I am greatful.

although I'm not a member in good standing currently, I still consider myself a member, (when things clear up a bit, I'll again lend my financial support to the association).
One of the best things I like about CKCA is that it's a benefactor for worthy causes like cancer research, not to mention one of the few groups totally focused on bringing the art of custom knives to the masses. Truly a 'Pay it Forward' organization.

I too have enjoyed my time in the CKCA, and have been around since The Beginning.

There was a time in the formation of the CKCA that was a glimmer of an idea....those of us discussing the idea offline via e-mails wanted a small, exclusive group that would happily trust and disseminate information freely.....around this time, Kevin Jones was working quite closely with Jerry Fisk, and they hatched an idea that would encompass some of the thoughts that those of us in on the discussion had, and added some of their own, and ran with it...keep in mind that other collectors have attempted to create organizations, and nothing really happened...Kevin was able to use very hard work, dedication and enthusiasm to wrangle up enough of a starting committee to make this thing happen.

The CKCA is a great organization, and one that I am proud to have had an active role in helping to found and perpetuate. We had what I try to do as an annual dinner at The Blade Show this year, attending was Kevin Jones(CKCA President), Jim Cooper(CKCA Member), Mrs. Jim(Susan) Cooper, Buddy Thomason(CKCA Board Member), Joseph Paranee(CKCA Member) and Paul Long(CKCA member)....this was not by design...It's the way it merrily happened, but I can count all these luminary knife people as friends....it provided for scintillating company and heady knife discussion to say the least...membership does have it's privileges.

That said, there is SO much that is exciting coming up from this dynamic organization!

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Welcome, Jeff. I look forward to meeting you on down the trail. The CKCA is an organization with momentum and direction. Look for wonderful and unexpected things to happen in time, things you will want to be a part of. Best wishes. Buddy T

Up in Maine for a little vacation. Yes the sheaths are outstanding...I received the package with the sheaths on my way out the door so they went on vacation with me!

Paul's leatherwork begins in Texas but likes to vacation at the beach in Maine :)

the generosity and grace within this community just floors me.

Welcome Jeff and a BIG Thanks for all the positive comments.

The overwhelming support we have received from our community over the last three years is amazing.
And has allowed us to accomplish much in a relatively short time.
