Jones Beach Airshow

A.W.U.K. - I appreciate the offer, but I don't see myself flying internationally anytime soon - trying to save up for a house (hopefully at a rate that is faster than inflation)

There is no nicer sound that those old piston engines kicking in. My favorite is the P-47. My father during WWII was stationed on Long Island at Republic Aviation. I was born there at Mitchell Field.

Amen! Those Skytypers fly Texans. Let me tell you those things sound incredible - they just sound brutish. Slow but powerful.

Zman, you might find this funny - the Airpower Museum's in one of the former Republic hangars. The Cradle of Aviation Museum's in some old hangars and outbuildings at Mitchell Field. You might find this sad - Republic is just a commercial airport now, Mitchell Field is some museums, corporate buildings, and the IRS, and Roosevelt Field is a giant mall.
