We don't speak canadian (notice the specific use of the lower case "c") in Alaska. You outsiders may refer to our home as the "Last Frontier" (not to be confused with the "Final Frontier" of Gene Rodenbury utopianism fame) or the "Great Land". You may not refer to our territory as pseudo-America, Seward's Folly, "Formerly Russia", Caribou Central, Mooseville, "that ice field" or Canuk-land.
There is no word or collection of letters in our spoken language that equates to the tell tale canadian "eh". However, there are those of us who occasionally use the Minnesota "o". For the most part, my particular accent is Iowa (the typically American non-accent, laced with a fair amount of Army accent, bolstered by a deep voice). When I speak, I make canadians (again note the lower case "c"), Europeans, UN diplomats, and most limp-wristed girly man lower-48ers (also known as liberals and environmentalists), run for cover.
I hope that clarifies some things....
