This post is from Jonesy- not joeG26er (I'm just helping out with the pics)

Just wanted to share a method of marking blades for those on a budget or looking for an inexpensive way to mark a few blades for fun.

This is pic of the whole unit. I used a dimmer switch wired to a receptacle so that anything plugged in can have the voltage varied. After I found the setting needed I just marked the switch to set it every time.
I think you could put a volt meter in the loop if you wanted to know the input.

This is a pic of where I tapped into the charger(disclaimer-I am not an electrician and a friend showed me this so the terminology is weak). There are two red wires coming out of the rectifier that I connected to. These wires run to the ground clip and the marking pad used on the blade. This is the AC curcuit. To use the DC curcuit I use the battery charge wires that are already attached to the machine.

I use salt water for the electrolyte. Here are another pic to hopefully help.

I know that it is probably not as good as a factory machine but it does work and I was on a really tight budget at the time and my only desire was to make some knives to enjoy.
