Josh Smith Hammer-in and vacation.... (long)

Thats awful Josh. I'm sorry that had to happen so close to home. Hope the scenery makes a speedy recovery! And I'm sorry I couldn't make it that to that fun weekend..

I just wanted to tell you that the pictures that lead your post here of the mountain with the "M" on it are no longer the same. Tonight at 7:00 that mountain caught on fire and by 10:00 the entire hillside burned. In fact at this moment from my yard I can see a wall of flames working up the north side of it and we live 20 miles from it.

Feel fortunate you were able to hike it because it is now closed and very black.
Yikes! Well, it was all prairie grass and I can see how flammable it would have been. Especially now with the heat.

Nice time for a repainting of the 'M'.

By next year, when Nick Wheeler and I climb up and time all the other hammer-in attendees on their way up, it will be just fine.... :D :p ;)

Thanks, Josh. (There's a joke on the mountain somehow in this: M in Black? ;))

Actually two really young kids were playing with a lighter trying to light a phone book on fire behind their house.

No flaming bowling ball, yet.

Josh - That's bad news. The view of that area was especially nice from the upper deck at L. A. Design. I noticed that your & Jodi's home and shop were surrounded by a pretty good defensible space. Smart!
Hope the rest of summer will be fire free for ya'll.
