I have a mint condition Josh Smith, M.S. art folder liner lock with beautiful presentation grade MOP scales and Josh's own "Night Sky Fireworks" damascus trailing point blade and bolsters for sale. Josh is the youngest person to ever achieve the ranking of ABS Master Smith, and after 5 years as an MS, he definitely makes some of the most impressive pieces around today. This piece, which Josh calls the "Pearl Blue", is a sole authorship knife, and it's one of the most impressive feats in craftsmanship that I have ever owned. All of the screws are fileworked and heat colored, and the thumbstud is inlaid with a citrine stone.
The Smith listed here is in dead mint condition, and I purchased it directly from the maker himself. It has never been carried, used, or sharpened, and it obviously still has its original edge from Josh. Fit and finish are impeccable on this piece. The action is very smooth, the knife locks up great, and the blade centering is just about dead perfect.
Price is $1400. The price includes Registered Priority Mail shipping, insurance, and delivery confirmation within the continental US. Because this is such a high dollar item, I will only ship internationally if certain conditions are met. If you are an international buyer who is seriously interested, please contact me for details.
The specs:
Condition: Mint
Blade length: 2 7/8" from tip to bolster
Overall length: 6 1/4"
Blade thickness: 3/32" at ricasso
Blade steel: "Night Sky Fireworks" damascus forged by Josh Smith
Blade finish: Etched, polished, and heat colored
Edge: Plain
Bolsters: "Night Sky Fireworks" damascus forged by Josh Smith
Handle material: Presentation grade MOP, polished
Lock: 1084 liner lock, polished, fileworked, and heat colored
Backspacer: 1084, polished, fileworked inside and out, and heat colored
Clip: None
For payment on this particular piece, I will only accept USPS money orders unless I personally know you. If I do know you, I will also accept PayPal to a confirmed address or a personal check, but I reserve the right to wait for payment to clear before I ship.
I will consider trades (+ or - cash) for high-end custom folders or balis or multiple lower end custom folders or balis. Here are the makers that I am particularly interested in:
JL Williams
Tim Galyean
Kit Carson
Jim Burke
Rick Hinderer
Charles Marlowe
DB Fraley
Neil Blackwood
Deryk Munroe
Dobruski (balis only)
Flavio Ikoma
Ken Onion
Phil Boguszewski
Matt Cucchiara (flippers only)
I am not interested in serrated blades, production knives, or fixed blades other than a Galyean Ukiah, small (less than 5" blade) Hossoms, or a Russ Andrews at this point in time.
Feel free to post, email, or PM any questions. Thanks for looking!
