Journey To Purchasing Your Favorite EDC: Small Inkosi Review

I own many knives...I've been collecting/using since I was a kid many, many years ago. I've been using knives for over 50 years.
I purchased a Inkosi about a year ago, and think it's a really good knive..but not worth $300+.

The prices on many of these knives are pretty hard to stomach. It sometimes takes some mental gymnastics to justify spending so much on a knife, flashlight...etc. With Chris Reeves at least knowing the warranty and service you get after the purchase is there. With my other hobby, photography, it's even worse. Often to get marginal increases in performance the price increases exponentially. Then just think of the world of watches, cars, boats.....I know I am satisfied with my Inkosi purchase, and while I would have liked it to be cheaper, I understand that Chris Reeves Knives consistently get people to pay the asking price.

There's also a pride of ownership principle which is like an unquantifiable X-factor. For a youngster, the pride of ownership of an NFL spec football might vastly exceed its monetary value.

The first "real" timepiece I bought my son was a sub $100 Citizen. He cherished that thing like you wouldn't believe. When a wipeout scratched up the crystal, you could see in his eyes it was like part of him was dying. (When I told him the battle bruised character of my old Citizen Diver didn't invalidate my fondness for it, he felt a lot better.)

Pride of ownership, like individual taste, is something that is very personal and doesn't necessarily promote materialism, or equate to the absolute cost of an item. Admittedly, there are more than enough flaunting douches in the world. However somebody can still be a decent guy (or gal), get something nice to spoil himself, and feel good about it. That's what makes this a fun hobby/obsession. Different grinds for different kinds, right?

Still loving my Inkosi, btw!

Great choice ScottG and nice knife. I own quite a few Chris Reeve knives and just recently picked up a small Inkosi. It's by far my favorite and hasn't left my pocket. Enjoy!
