Hello,

Why will be your recommendation between the Journeyman and he Horseman for EDC- light tactical use?

Do one have picture of the two?

I already have a ZT0562 and a ZT0350, what is the size and ergonomics differences between the Emersons and these ZTs?

The horseman is such a great knife. Definately one of his best. The Cqc8 family is such a classic. I think they call it the Banana knife.

That dao type tip is awesome and should be put on more knives. It keeps the spine thickness all the way to the tip.

Does anyone has pictures to make comparisons between these 2 and if possible some of the ZTs?

The horse man and cqc8 are just excellently designed knives. All Emersons are if you ask me, but the horseman is an absolute classic. And with good reason; it is an ergonomical masterpiece. Not to mention the style of the tip of the knife makes for a very strong tip. There is also the very important fact that it looks frickin' sweet as hell. I mean you can't understate the importance of that.

I absolutely love the ergos on the Journeyman!! The CQC8 and Horseman feel great in hand but the Journeyman felt perfect in hand for me. That said... out of the three knives the one I kept was a CQC8 haha.

If you don't dig the hilt or the slightly longer handle on the CQC8 or Horseman the Journeyman would be a good fit for you. The hilt and the back half of the handle on the Journeyman are more reminiscent of the Commander series but the overall knife feels thinner in hand like a CQC8 and less chunky than a Commander.

If I had to pick again I would still pick a CQC8 because it reminds me of a AFCK which is one of my favorite knives ever produced but damn if the Journeyman didn't feel nice in hand!

Unfortunately, I don't have a Horseman or 0350 anymore. The Journeyman has been my work EDC for 4 years and it is a great knife. However, the Horseman's handle is just a tad more comfortable in both forward and reverse grips. Final comfort will of course depend on user preferences and their hand and finger sizes. But in general, I feel that the CQC-8 style handles like the Horseman will be more comfortable to hold for more people than the Journeyman.

The Horseman's handle is also narrower than the 0562, which means it may not fill your hand as much. So if the 0562 handle feels too small for you, then the Journeyman might be the better option.

Horseman is just a better size for edc. Also in my opinion one of the sexiest Emerson patterns of all time happens to be the Cqc8.

If you have big hands go for the Journeyman. Like many in this thread I think the CQC-8 is one of the best designs ever. The Journeyman has almost all of the same attributes, but is a bit plainer in execution. The Horseman is a bit too small if you have XL or similar hands. It does carry very nice, as others have posted.

Both good choices.

I highly recommend the CQC-8/horseman, it's just so comfortable and the gently curved blade is a great cutter.

If I had to pick again I would still pick a CQC8 because it reminds me of a AFCK which is one of my favorite knives ever produced but damn if the Journeyman didn't feel nice in hand!

I believe that the designer of the AFCK, Chris Caracci (used to have sub-forum here) had some input into the design of the CQC-8?

Just got a Horseman on Friday as a result of this thread (bad influences here I tell ya! ;) ) and a 0630.

I am a fan of the entire CQC-8 family but, as others have stated, you hand size and personal preferences will dictate.

The Horseman is a very popular EDC for good reason.
