Journeyman or Horseman

I thought the Horseman was the 'perfect' size until I handled the 8. The 8 is only .6 longer in handle and .4 longer in blade. I find the biggest deciding factor to be how your hand feels and conforms to the choil behind the guard. The Horseman's choil is quite narrow, whereas as the 8 has a more standard width with easier lock access. I wear a medium sized glove and felt cramped using the Horseman.

As Salty said, preference will dictate. The 8 feels absolutely perfect in my hand, whereas the Roadhouse and Commander grips feel uncomfortable when I grip hard.

I bought a Horseman as my first Emerson knife and was underwhelmed by the small size of it. So I sent it back immediately and swapped it for a full size CQC8 and liked it much better. It felt like "real knife" but I prefer 4" blades in general.

The Journeyman is a great knife too. It is a little larger (as already mentioned) so if you like small folders, get the Horseman.

If you like medium sized folders, the Journeyman and CQC8 are both good choices.
