JR Cook Hidalgo fighter w/ 'transition' damascus steel

Those are some amazing lookin blades. I have not scene that damascus before (shows what I know), it is very impressive. Almost looks like a reverse hamon of sorts.

Yes Ron you are correct to some degree. Larry Cox did photo the first of this pattern. And Larry did share it at the Uncle Al meeting. There is more to the story you do not know.
Larry Cox is my apprentice and I helped him with his pattern and told him he could post it first to help him build some interest in his work.
Your statement implies I robbed this pattern from him. As long as we have known each other I would have thought you would have called and asked me before posting a statement like that.

Thank you Buddy for the great photo, as always you did good.

Tried to compliment 2 craftsmen on their work. My public apologies because compliments was all that was intended here.

Until Don pointed that out, I simply 'bought it' as side B without realizing it was the same perspective. Doh!

Effectively great ploy! ;)

I am clamming up on any whippings, lest I want twenty lashes myself. I deserve them! LOL! :D

COOL damascus pattern, AWESOME spacers/guard and some nice stag. Well done JR, and CONGRATS Buddy.

The way you have raised the bar on EVERY knife you've made recently JR....I'm thinking you may be upgraded from a "State Treasure" to "National":D

Regards,
Peter

Mr. Cook, I applaud the knife...it is one of the finest renditions of your work that I have seen, and Buddy did great service by posting it.

Words can often appear other than how intended in a medium like the internet. I would invite you and Ron to both edit your postings for the sake of focus on the knife images, and not the personalities involved.

It would be wonderful if you would post more often around these parts, we can always use another knowledgeable and experienced knifemaker's voice in this arena.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Very Nice score Buddy I really like JR's knives and it kicked off a great thread

Ron, Let us not loose a 20 year friendship here. If I have read more into this, I am truly sorry. My apologies to all.
Thank you all for your positive comments.
We all learn form one another and we become better for it.
JR
