JRE strop bat

Is that the one you had at the hammer in? I need to get one of those.

What wood is that handle? Can you show a better picture?
 
Taht is the strop bat from the hammer in. Worth getting!

The handle is jatoba, the whole knife will have better photos tomorrow, when the sheath is done drying up :)
 
due to this thread, i ordered the strop bat this morning at around 2am. i woke up at around 10 and found that Dan from JRE had already shipped it. Fantastic service!
 
I received mine also, wanted to let everyone know my thoughts.

Service - Excellent. Reply email to Order/payment, very fast shipment, email upon shipment.

Wood - Excellent, well finished and generous handle without being too thick.

Leather - solidly and symetrically applied to wood (no loose edges), flat - no wrinkles, thick enough to last years.

Compound/Application - Since I ordered two I was able to compare. On both the application for the Black and Green were very thorough and well applied. The Pink/White was good on one but more sparce on the other.

Incidentally, pretty large blocks of compound come with the strop bat.

Based on Koyote's post I was expecting a small amount of each compound to be included, that is not the case. No problem though, the compound kit of all three compounds is available for $15, a good price and I feel if you purchase the Bat you should also go ahead and purchase this compound kit and save on shipping the two seperately.

I rate this as a very nice product, substantial with out being bulky for home use. Very good price also. :thumbup:
