Here is my first attempt at my JS performance test knife ready for heat treat, etc. The blade is 1084, 9 3/4 x 1 5/8 x 7/ 32 at the ricasso. Overall elnght if 14 3/4. All of the sharp edges have been rounded and it doesn't have plunge cuts. I am thinking about micarta scales for the handle with 2 peened 1/8 or smaller pins.

It looks great Joe! I hope you keep us posted on your progress. I would like to see your step by step progress as you move up to getting your js stamp.
Best of luck to you and have fun.

Thank you, sir:thumbup: I don't plan to submit knives for judging until 2009 at the earliest, so I have plenty of time to screw up...lol.

Well I will be staying tuned in. And dont forget to shows the mistakes too. It will be years before I give it a go if I ever do. If I have to pay to join I want to be 100% sure I can pass before I start shelling out the cash I dont have.
In the meantime I will live vicariously through you:) That is if you don't mind.

I like it too.
Looking forward to seeing it finished,Joe.

Doug
