JSP vs. BUSSE

Ok fellas, I am posting this in both the jsp and busse forums to let both sides speak their minds. Which cstom katana would be the best? A JSP Katana or a Busse Custom katana made from INFI. This is assuming they both have all the same dimensions and design. Which would be the best?

All...

I have closed this topic on the Busse Combat Forum.

I do appreciate Ryu's desire to get information, but I think it can be researched and retrieved in a better fashion and with a different title.

Busse Combat loves Jim's work and the Associate Harnesses.

Respectfully,

I wanted to say I am sorry for any disrespect I showed toward either Busse Combat or JSP. I meant no harm. I was just trying to get some educated feedback on a very very hard choice I find my self having to make. Once again to Jim and all the people at Busse Combat, I am truely Sorry and ask that no one else comment on these forums. I will do as Andy suggested and continue my research privately.

Respectfully, Keith Gilbert

In short this is abuse of moderator power, see my long winded reply in the Busse forum.

I was utterly dissappointed and, quite frankly, pissed off at Andy's response to this post. Ryu is simply seeking information. He did not in any way offend or antagonize either JSP or Busse. Ryu even had the courtesy to post the same topic on both the JSP and Busse forums. As for this topic "being researched and retrieved in a better fashion and with a different title" - well, I can't think of a better place to research and retrieve information of this nature. In Bladeforums.com's own words (see "about us") "We decided to provide a world class information site where all would be welcome, and where each and every product would stand on it's own merits."

Andy, you might want to come down off your high horse and stop playing moderator cop. After all, the free flow of information is what makes this forum great.

Regards,

Art

Well guys just a thought here. Both James and Jerry provide a superior product. What would one expect Jerry or James to say that the others guys product is better than their own? I think not. Both I am sure feel there product is the best available for their own reasons. What I have seen on the forums is all to often the people doing the most talking have never held the knives being compared, they are judging the personality of the makers. I like Jerry's response on the Busse forum, he wants to make knives and discuss them. If challenged he is a competitor, if left alone will build a great knife and refine the knives he has. JSP I believe is the same. There is no lack! Try to find a knife mcuh less a sword from either maker. They are in short supply and high demand.
As for Andy! A great individual who I feel did what he thinks was right. And a perfectly great guy to deal with on Busse Knives or any other Knives for that matter.
If one is trying to decide on which maker to go with ask the owners on a forum what characteric's about a particular makers knife they find most desirable.

Stay Well

Back to point, a JSP sword would probably be better for fighting (AT2-34, Chisel Ground 1/8" or so stock in a lighter package) Haaaduuuken!!!

A Busse Kensei in 1/8 or thicker INFI would handle the forest situations possible better and still be a fighter, perhaps a heavier fighter. BTW, Newt Livesay has a sword too.

I never shut this down because I did not find it offensive in the slightest. I have not seen the Busse Sword in question, I met Jerry Busse in Atlanta, sweating over a pile of destroyed hemp rope on the back loading dock of the Cobb County Galleria...a very nice Man indeed. Have a nice picture of same in my Knifer's Photo Album.

We had a nice discussion on his locking sheath as well! Padlockable at that! Great stuff... but he should stop giving liberal's ideas! Nice seeing you over here Andy.
