Beautiful as always John, thanks for posting. If I might ask, what's the sheath made of for that great green color, and am I seeing things, or is that some kind of patterned(wootz/damascus/raindroip/whatever) steel?
I previously posted a picture of this Indian kukri to show the interesting closure and unique pommel. The scabbard is covered with green velvet and the blade is marked with very nice acid etching/gold koftgari designs. Thankyou for the complimentary words.
Ha, I didn't even notice the pommel, looking at that scabbard and the steel(Though I did at least realize that the leather wrap around top of scabbard looked familiar). But I remember that Khuk now. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing these great images with us on a reguluar basis. It is good to know that such things exist and are well cared for and a nearly unbearable tease at the same time.
