Can't participate due to a damn heavy work load at university, but the concept is really cool! Thanks for giving your time, Ethan and Moose; you guys are really generous to inspire us goons to improve our skill set. Proud to be a Beckerhead.
 
I'm in!

Am I supposed to suggest a skill to learn? Just the opportunity to converse on on one with Mr Becker, something I have never had the chance to do, would be great. Learning something from him would be amazing! I think anything Mr Becker wants to teach me is something I want to know.
 
I'll sign up. I need to get better at sharpening. I don't know why I just can't get my knives sharpened.

That is one of the things that came to mind for me also. I have watched Mr. Fisks videos...over my head. Clich was even nice enough to send me some sharpening supplies and make a video for my daughter to follow step by step and I still can not get great results. Belt sander...Check..destroyed a BK14. Worksharp...Check..uglied up my BK2 real good...Still dull.

I can't make a fire in the bush. - It worries me that I will not be able to get a fire going if I go camping without a fire accelerator or simply get lost and have to keep myself warm.

If Mr. Becker can give help me make proper fires out in the bush, well I'll feel plenty more confident in running out into the forests to have fun. - I have plenty of forested areas where I can get a fire going and I sure as hell want to be part of this, I have plenty enough free time to devote to this challenge.

Im in....i would love to learn more about trap making...this skill has always been my weak point, I can't seem to make them do what they need to do. I have only caught one thing and that was a turtle in a deadfall trap, as soon as I lifted the rock, the turtle started to walk away..I wasn't even going for turtles...in short, i'm freakin terrible at it! Thanks guys!

I"ii sing up sharpening is my weakest skill would love the chance to learn from Ethan.
 
Sounds like a great contest. I am unfortunately insanely busy for the next 2 months. But that sounds like a really cool one.
 
July isnt the best month for it (its hot!), but I want to get better at cooking in the woods....Baking too maybe. I would love some pointers from the bossman!

We will miss this fall's gathering but will be there next years. We plan on making it every other year.
But, we can still play in between.
 
You pick the skill you are weakest in, and then if Ethan chooses you, you will be working on that skill with Ethan for the next month. So, pick your skill and start crossing the fingers, E picks the contestants, based on what you feel you need to work on and how hard you are willing to work to achieve your goal.

You and Bob are always welcome to play, in any of our challenges. With this one, you might be better on the other side, though. Helping with the skills. :D

Well, I'll throw down my gauntlet. Seriously it's made of steel and it's too damned hot to be wearing armor anyway. My skill if chosen, friction fire. I'm horrible at it. I've been a master at friction since I was almost 12, but can't get a fire started .
 
Friction fire here too, I'm just bad at it. I can get smoke, lot's of smoke. Also I've won a few knives in Ethan's contests so I'm happy to observe or stand in on short notice if someone who is chosen can't fulfill the contest.
