Jumped in feet/hands first. And a couple newbie thoughts.

I have 'collected' knives all my life. Not the typical collector quality or brands in every case necessarily but knives I liked to carry (almost exclusively folders; autos, assisted, and manual). And am never without one in the pocket.

I decided to start acquiring fixed blades and your community is obviously very passionate about the Busse blades so I wanted to join the fold.

SO, with a serious case of Knife Acquisition Disorder (KAD) yesterday, I placed an order for the following:

-NMSFMO with Kydex sheath from the bcs. Black on Black.
-HG55 LE

I cant wait to get these in. They are both beautiful knives and will start me off right.

Now for a couple thoughts on my initial experience to acquire INFI.

I find the acronyms very confusing. Granted there is a dictionary thread stickied at the top but sometimes it really makes my head hurt!

I am still trying to figure out what drives pricing on some of the blades I have seen so far. Seems like some just sky rocket and some not so much. Supply and demand I imagine.

Thanks for letting me share. I hope to be able to post the pics soon!

You pretty much have it correct,,,,,,,,,,,,, except now that you've aquirred 2,,,,you'll want MORE ,,, lots more. Congrats on your first INFI purchases , they're both excellent blades :thumbup: Careful on your next 100 purchases....you'll be in debt forever.....just remember one thing..........

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,NO REGRETS

This is a great group of people all chasing superior blades,,,,Welcome to our insanity.:D

excellent knives to start with !!

check out HOGCULT.com for a database of all the models

if you hit the chart view you can then search on the page for the acronym you're looking for and it'll probably be there : http://hogcult.com/chart

Welcome bud, another good site for cross ref is: www.bussecollector.com. The addiction is only starting!!!

Welcome and congrats on the great blades! We'll need pics when you get them.

At first it may be a little confusing, but before long you'll find yourself thinking in acronyms instead of the whole name of a knife. :D

Welcome to our madness!

This is a great time to build a collection, as the market is soft for the more common, recent blades. A few of the old models have been driven up to ridiculous (IMHO) prices due to limited supply and collectors willing to pay. So it goes.

Two great ones to start out with there. I think you will be impressed with them. I have never held either, those cover two useful sizes for use.

Thanks for the welcomes... I really appreciate the links as well. I checked them out quickly and they help. I will look them over in much better detail later today.

I will post pics whe the knives show up. I havent seen time lines for the HG55 LE. But hopefully the one from BCS will be here in a week.

Nice beginning to your INFI collection! Even if they were the only two you ever got (HA! HA! They won't be.) you'ld never need another. They can handle about everything a blade need to do.

usability of the knife has a lot to do with it as well. thats why the sfno's got so high so quickly, where as the pt5's often just hang about. where as the force1 can command a premium because of seeming rarity.

the acronym thread needs a heavy update, but until I get enough money to get a gold account again, I won't be re-editing my initial post.

Welcome and congrats on your first two blades...very nice choices by the way!

Welcome to the addiction t76turbo!

When you receive your first Busse knife you will understand and be enlightened.

Do not worry about the acronyms. Check out the reference sights such as bussecollector.com and also the For Sale forums. The names will start to come to you.

And always, No Regrets.

Got an email today saying the knife and sheath (I assume) shipped today. I'm excited!

Thanks again all. I appreciate it. I am trying to come up with what I want next. I am seeing the ASH's in the sale ad's here and that might be next.

T76 is in my mercury marauder. Which is for sale so I can get another turbo car.
