I like it, but that implies buying another Millie with black-coated blade. Damn it, you guys are a bad influence. BTW, Rob, aren't the screws on the black-coated Millie black, too? Did you just switch blades or liners, too?

IIRC he switched the blade, the stop pin, the liners (both), and the clip to make the "Goblin."

No the screws on the black Millie are not black. And Josh is correct, I switched locks/liners to maintain ideal lockup.

Are there any of the black bladed Military's with black screws? The picture at Knifecenter seems to show it that way (Same picture used for PE and part serrated) or was this a picture of a prototype?. LINK

Notice the "tank tread" style jimping? That's an older version of the Military knife, not the current production model.

I knew all along that this thread was going to go from jumping to jimping.

So, does this mean that all models of the Military with the "tank tread" jimping are constructed with black screws only?

BTW, those Millies with black screws seen on many retailers' sites come from the Spyderco online catalog: http://spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=114

Odd. Not only do they have the tank tread jimping, but they also have Sal's mark behind the Spyderco hole. I'd love to see Sal's maker mark on the millie to go with the para, but I believe he said he didn't feel the design was enough of his own to do that.
