tl;dr: I get the hype. I have the madness.

So, I went to an Old Crow Medicine Show concert after a final exam on Wednesday. Naturally I had a good few beers and danced like a madman and generally had a great time. I then went back to my girlfriend's and the combination of excitement and inebriation led me to a retail app on my phone. I'd had a BK14 and BK15 (as well as two Victorinox Waiters to be given as graduation gifts) in my cart for at least a week or two and, like many here I'm sure, I have a tendency to pull the trigger on knife purchases when under the influence.

Anyway, the shipping was stupid fast and I got a notification that my packages had arrived yesterday,

I hurried home and whipped out my BK4, naturally.

Which will be first?

The 14!

I guess we all know what's in the bigger package then,

(The camera on my phone is terrible, and seems to be worsening. If there isn't perfect shady sunlight it looks terrible like these pictures, especially in the dark.)

Both came shaving sharp with no cosmetic type issues except a tiny spot where the coating is chipped off the handle on the 14, but that isn't really an issue for me. I didn't expect the little locking device on the 14 sheath, and I've been trying desperately to remove it with my little keychain Leatherman and SAK to no avail. I think I'm gonna take my dremel to it the next time I'm home, as I've got it pretty gnarled up already. I can get a 3.75 finger grip, sometimes 3.5 sometimes 4, but I think it will feel even better once I give it a paracord wrap. The 15 handle seems to be either just long enough for my sausage hands or a bit short, but that's how I felt about the full size handle when I first got the 4 and after using it I like the handle a lot, so I'm going to use it a bit before I make a final judgement. I think the blade shape on the 15 will excel at food prep and general usage, though I'm not usually a trailing point/upswept tip kinda guy. I planned to use them both grilling some steak today, but ended up helping my girlfriend move and stayed in the city for work. I definitely look forward to putting both to good use as soon as I can though, these Beckers just scream "Use me! Use me hard!" haha

Anyway, not sure what the point of this thread is, but I'm pretty dang excited. I definitely have more fixed blades than I honestly need now, but I'll figure it out. I'm gonna get a group picture once I get to use them. I'm planning on camping a couple days this week, so they'll be useful then for sure.

Grats on the new blades! Looking forward to seeing pics of those bad boys in action

I agree, thats a crappy camera fone:D

But I've known that excitement, often....

Always awesome to share, thanks for that.

Thanks! Hopefully in the daylight I'll be able to get some better quality pictures haha

Congrats buddy! Looking forward to the camping pics!

Thanks! I'm looking forward to taking them, gonna try to really get a feel for them.

Yeah, and it's supposed to be medium to high quality! It's the original HTC One. I don't know why it's so terrible in low and high light conditions.

Thanks, it's definitely exciting. I was kind of losing interest in knives, and still am definitely calming down on posting and perusing the sale sections and such, but these Beckers are worth the excitement.

Wow!
I´m not the only one with a crappy camera phone.. :D
(I´ll replace my old HTC Desire aaaany day now..)

Took my 15 out yesterday and tried some food prep after stripping the blade.. The 15 did a good job dicing potatoes and pleasantly enough didn´t fling carrot slices all over the place either.
I give it :thumbup::thumbup:

Used my new 15 to make some corn casserole and chicken breasts for the first dinner in my girlfriend's new apartment. I made a lot, we're both eating it today also. Haha

Practical? Not really.
Awesome? Heck yeah.

Ha! And I thought the survival rig I was putting together was "excessive" (is there really such a thing though?). [emoji6]

Shouldn't be much you can't accomplish with that setup.

Agree[emoji106]

How does it feel swinging from your belt? or you thinking of lashing it to a pack?
It definitely has some swing to it. I probably wouldn't want to hike with it on my belt unsecured. I use a pack with some molle hook ups for fishing, so I might strap it on that.

That's the plan! Chop, slice, everything else haha

Beckers are like crack. You buy one and your hooked. I bought a BK9 from a member last week. Then somehow eBay delivered a Bk15 yesterday. Just showed up? 😉 and now I get a usps notification that they are delivering a Bk10 tomorrow. Crazy how that happens?

That's what happened to me too, bought a 9 from a member here, and a week and a half later I have a 5 and 15 sitting around waiting to be used, as well as some wood scales for the 9. Crazy indeed.
