Correct. And you don't need to buy INFI to get that kind of lateral strength. SR77 does the job quite nicely. SR101 ain't too bad either. For example:Dog father?
I remember that video,, Beef was wailing on that thing! I hear you brother,, at the moment though the Yard is empty,, and the Rodent 9 isn't exactly what Im looking for.. I figure a Jungles was hold me over for the time being..Correct. And you don't need to buy INFI to get that kind of lateral strength. SR77 does the job quite nicely. SR101 ain't too bad either. When the going gets tough, the tough choose Busse & Kin!![]()
Buying both was wishful joke.. Truth be told I just don't like the look of it,, tack a sheath onto it and I'm in knocking at the 350 mark. Im trying to keep it below 200 total..so something directly from the yard would fit my bill. I would definitely consider a 911,, and they pop up right about that much pretty often, just haven't had the money at the right time.I'm certainly not going to knock the Junglas. It's a proven performer. The only thing I'd say is that if you're going to buy a Junglas AND a Crowell Barker, you could have bought a Rodent 9 instead. Which, of course, brings up the question of why the Rodent 9 isn't what you're looking for. Mind if I ask why it isn't something you'd consider?
The Browning is 108x and convex bevel and flat(ish)/full-height convex grind. The handle is pinned and epoxied in place and a little small and chunky/squarish to me. The build quality is very good and it comes with a pretty nice leather sheath. It's made in Taiwan.
The Junglas is 1095 and a v-bevel on a flat grind. It has removable scales and a Kydex sheath (if you order it) which is ambidextrous.
I've owned both and kept the Junglas. I'm a lefty so that mattered, plus I prefer the handle size of the Junglas. It's a terrific small machete/big knife. Plus it has a lifetime warranty and it's made in America.
Well guys, looks like it's split down the middle,, guess I'll just buy both and sell whichever I like less here. I may just start with the Junglas,,, must be something good about it if I have a hard time finding anything on Google for "broken Junglas",, other than the video of it getting bent 45 degrees before snapping!
Thanks guys, and thanks Cobalt for putting the vote over the edge!
Thanks for the input! It looks like that sheath is a custom, not the one that Esee offers. Out of curiosity why did you choose that one rather than the factory one?Smart choice I think. I have had the Junglas for quite a while and put it through it's paces very often. From home use to camp chores to batoning all the wood for campfires all deer season long, it's never failed me and if it ever did, they have a forever warranty.[/IMG]![]()

Sorry,, was trying to watch the kids at a playground,, didn't notice the "kydex whisperer" part of your screen name! Thanks for the input! It looks like that sheath is a custom, not the one that Esee offers. Out of curiosity why did you choose that one rather than the factory one?
