Win yalls opinion and experience which is better junglas or trailmaster for all around survival?

Junglas without a doubt. Made out of great stuff and ESEE crew are one the best out there

You are going to receive a lot more votes on the Junglas,

You want to know why?

Because it is all around better.

Yeah i was just wandering what yall thought and thanx for the input. I dont mind if it leans one way or the other. Does anyone here own and have used a trailmaster?

I have a cold steel trailmaster and it stays in a drawer. The handle came off a long time ago and it is heavy. I have a few esee and rat products and they are top notch. If you live in a mosquito prone area you need to know that kraton will deorm and melt when exposed to DEET. The TM is a good chopper but the pors don't out weigh the cons...Jim

I have a couple of TM's, love them. They have been worked hard over the last ten years, and are some of my favorite large blades. They have excellent geometry, and I have the older Carbon V steel, which I really like.

I've never held a knife from ESEE, they've never appealed to me.

I do infact live in a mosquito infested part of the country but i have never heard of the craton handles being week to deet

If I were you, I'd get a Junglas. The TM is a great blade, but the Junglas feels better to use, and the company is no BS.

Own neither but from general dimensions that Junglas probably doesn't pack much chopping power.
The TM looks more allround although not sure I'd get this one either. Maybe some short parang.

sir you are completely incorrect lol. the junglas chops like thats its job. very nice chopper, its light enough to carry and not really notice it, and is still good on thin green stuff. its a great all around blade. i don't own a TM so i can't comment on it

I have an older TM that's great and I have no problems with it but the Junglas is an all round better blade IMO. The blade itself is great, the sheath is outstanding and you can't beat the ESEE warranty and community.

+1. I've got the Carbon V Trailmaster; it is a great blade; but the steel is no longer being used. I've got no experience with the new steel TM. Also, the Junglas is a much better knife, both IMHO and from what I've seen on the forums. ESEE is an excellent company.

The BMWhatever is AFAIK the Busse equivalent of the junglas, so doesn't seem too conclusive about difference in formats.

Better in which way? I can easily see the Junglas having a better fit and finish and overall better value for money, yet in terms of raw efficiency, still skeptical about overall format.

Junglas, incredible chopper, and very nice for fine work too. An all rounder blade.

Yes, it is. But that post is showing somewhat a part of its chopping capabilities. It is a good chopper. Just because 'on paper' it doesn't sound like it, doesn't mean it isn't. Things on paper do not mean anything ;)

An objective side by side field comparison would clarify things up....anyone?
I don't own any of the these so I don't have hands-on experience I can share here.
I'm turned off by the handle material on the Trail Master though.

Things on paper do not mean anything ;)

Agreed.
