I just ordered a new junglas !!! This seems like it will be a great knife for wood processing when camping and general yard work. How do you other junglas owners like it soo far ?

Update: got the knife today and man does this thing perform!! Already thumped on it hard getting some wood ready for tonights fire! I was amazed at the toughness level of the blade as it bent a good 10 degrees
going through a big ass knot but straight as am arrow after it blasted through!!! And stayed sharp!!! Over all this blade is a great addition!!!

I was looking at gettin' an RTAK II for the same purposes before I knew of the Junglas. Now I want one of these instead! It's got to be a good wood processer, right?

oh yeah its great at processing wood. but so is the rtak2, the handle is so much better on the junglas though.

take it easy

Initiated it this past weekend. Dropped some 4"-5" widowmakers, limbed them, and chopped up and batoned for campfires for the weekend. 2 buddies had other brand choppers but were totally impressed with the Junglas. I took it with the intent purpose of breaking it in. I wouldn't go into the woods without it now.
Sorry no pics but we were doing barebones camping and the camera never made it into the gear. Gotta love a Junglas :D

It is a good knife to chop and baton with. It is also very comfortable to use. Like an extension of the hand.

My Junglas was the first ESEE knife I tryed. I had never even known anything about them until I can to this forums. I was getting interested in why all these people were talking about their ESEE's like they were junkies. Well I test knives, and bought a Junglas, and cut up a phonebook (cut edge off, huge mess of 800 some flakes) then cut 3 newspapers in two. Then I went to the woods and chopped a large tree limb off *1 swing* and made a 7 ft long spear (sharpened end 2cuts) then cut all branches off limb, (just ran the blade dowm the limb and all the smaller ones poped off) Then made a stright chop down 90 deg flat, and perfect end *flat* on spear. So I went to a piece of oak I brought for more testing, did about 30+ chops in the edge of the plank (2 in. thick) and then drove it about 1 1/2 -3 ins. 7-8 times at the end of the oak. Well after this I cut a piece of paper in one cut, No hang? So I thought, *could this thing still Shave after all that* IT DID.!! So now I know why the ESEE users here are like knive junkies, and I went out and bought an ESEE 6. And I'm gonna get a few others. I posted pics here with my test. These knives are one of, if not the best buy out there. I could batton mine with a 4x4 and only have great work done. You will have a hard time getting it to dull. Side note, their knives worked so well, I bought a fire striker from ESEE (tryed a few others, but junk) Even their fire kit is one of the best. Oh..sorry. Yes they have a great grip, and would do any work around the house. Or chop it down if you had a mind to. OK I'll shut up. ESEE's junglas will please you quite well. And thats spoken like a true junkie. Enjoy. edgy

Good to know. I love the handle on my KaBar Heavy Bowie. It eats shock up and begs for more.

First off I absolutely love my Junglas.:thumbup:

I also have a Kabar large heavy bowie, and it used to get used all the time.

It no longer gets used however because of the Junglas.

You cannot go wrong with a Junglas. I've said this before, but I'll say it

again. The ESEE Junglas is an EXCELLENT bargain.:thumbup:

Wow thanks guys!! Its good to see i made a good choice !! i almost spent double the cash on another brand chopper but something about this one and the great sheath that is included just spoke to me!!! i cant wait for the weekend to clean up the yard and have a nice fire in the back yard!!! I guess what also made my pull the trigger on this was how well my izula did in batoning through smaller logs for kindling this past weekend on a camping trip. Now the junglas can make small work of complete wood processing!!!

Also i saw a video online of ESEE testing the junglas and they put a pipe on the tang and bent the thing past 90 degrees before it snapped!! very impressive !!!

Wow. That might be all I need to hear. I was originally lookin' at the RTAK II 'cause of it's longer reach for batoning. That was before I knew of the Junglas. If you've retired your KaBar in favor of it, I am impressed!

The Junglas kick so much arse that I should leave it at home, because it make wilderness survival way too easy :) I find more challenging to just take my 5 or my 6.

seriously, it kick some serious knives arses

Why, oh why, must I read threads like this? I swear, these forums cost me more money than the computers I use to read them. ;)

Just ordered my Junglas today.

This is my favorite big blade. The thickness doesnt make it too heavy and the handle is just the right shape for comfort, no hotspots...oh and it holds the butt of your hand better than the RC5 or 6...so chopping is easier. Even if this blade was the same length of the RC5 or 6 the handle is fair better in my opinion. This is a "big" winner for ESEE!!!
