I have finally got the two Jungle fighters from Craig today! One knife will be my field knife and the other will take a place of honor with the rest of my collection. Thank you Craig! I have wanted Khukuri sheath covers for my knives every since I saw some in Museums in Britain. If any Forumite wants specific info on Craig's latest khukuri, Let me know. Im going out and give them a proper test now!! Bye

Well Dan it is a SN1 but with some differences. The Blade is not shined to a high gleam like other GH Khukuris. This is to help make the jungle fighter more tactical. The Blade is stamped with the GH Nepali Characters and this time no "NEPAL" stamped on the other side. (I did not like that all that much to begin with) The Edges are sharp.
The handle is of unpolished horn with typical SN1 brass ware. the sheath cover is OD green and is secured through the Belt loops on the frog.
Karda and Chakmak are of good quality in the knives I got. I think these Jungle Fighters are what the RGR are using currently. Id love to find out from Craig for certain.
I'd reccomend this model to any one looking for a unique Khukuri and, as well as for anyone who wants a Good practical Khukuri for actual use. I will be using mine in South Carolina and Ft Bragg Woods here soon.
It seems to me that people are getting carried away with wonder Khukuris and weird designs(WWIII excluded!!) Some lucky people even get Khukuris named after themselves, but for me, I will always remember who it is that gave us all Khukuris and killed some evil people whilst doing so. The Gurkhas.
Craig I hope this one will sell well for you. Ihope the jungle fighter becomes part of your regular inventory. Cheers Ron

Ron, I appreciated your review. Yes, the many customs do seem to come and go, and there must be some very good reasons why certain designs last and become timeless classics. I have only one SN1, but it has an unusual handle, so it's not something I'd actually put to use. But to me this understated form is even more beautiful than the standard...less is more here.

Just when the khukuri fund is low and the want list was starting to get short, GH has come up with another solid winner. The real deal, too. Congrads, Craig. And you've got good taste, Ron.

Is the scabbard completely standard, or is it somehow less flashy, or are there any subtle differences?

Thanks a lot, guys...Dan (the guy with the lengthening list)

Dan, the sheaths are standard SN1. The brass tip is not polished (no reason for it to be) and the hardware on the frog is rivets instead of those other knoby things seen on other SN1s I examined. Im trying to get a photograph of Gurkhas with the Jungle SN1s from a friend of mine in Scotland who is in the British army. More on that later. Cheers Ron

Ron: Very interesting, and many thanks. It's getting even better. Looking forward to anything else you dig up...Dan

PS: enjoy them!!

I got mine. Wow a great knife. I really like the carry case. I didn't get my tube of polish though <nudge>.

I also just got done watching the video. WOW. Good video work. It was incredibly entrancing. Then I was thinking... if we could get them power tools, we could have are kukris a lot faster!!!

Granted I don't think that they would go for that. That really looks like a lotta work.

Thanks again Craig.

Okay, so somewhere we had been talking about making a kukri more of a tactacle weapon. Last night I blued the blade on the jungle fighter. It looks great! I will try and post pics asap.

Great Matt! How did you blue the blade(I dont know much about that) and what do youthink of the sheath covers? Can't wait to see those pictures.

OOPS!!! Craig screwed up! I promised a tube of rustfree with orders of a Jungle Fighter. Anybody who got screwed by my senility please email me - include your order number, and I'll get some "Jungle Fighter" cream out to you today or Monday.
