Junglee Venom

I've had a change of plan. For some time I've been wagging a Buck Strider SB.1 around in my back pocket. Super knife but a big honker.

I asked myself why I needed to keep an unused Venom? I like the knife a lot but its not collectable. So out came the Strider and in went the Venom. My backside is already liking it alot. Lighter, thinner profile, and no square edges rubbing anything.

Super!!

Although I still have the hots for the venom, it lost its spot clipped in the back pocket to the Buck Vantage Pro.

Anyone had a chance to give the Venom a try as a EDC??

I think you can spot it kinda below the sage Endura.

I've been learning about knives for the last half years (I've been a knut for that time) but I've never heard of Junglee... they aren't very popular, are they?

Well, that's probably right. I do think they are underappreciated for what they are.
The truth is I probably wouldn't know either except I saw it on FleaBay and napped it cheap. A Seki City ATS-34 made blade was enough for me to try it for $40 NIB.

Here are a couple of my other favorites for comparision. Function follows form, esp. in knives.

That thing looks like a $5 flea market knife

I do think the Kraton insert lessens the appearance of the knife.
I do also think you should explain why or are you trolling?

I've got a couple of Junglee knives in ATS34 and AUS10. Good grinds, real thin liners on their otherwise well built liner locks. I'd never pay MSRP for one, but they are ok for cheap, fairly light use knives. All mine came easily able to shave arm hairs. Joe

Yea, I think I would find it hard to pay full sticker too. But I got it for $36 NIB plus S&H so I have $42 in mine. It is worth every bit of that and more. I know Junglee builds some of its knives in Taiwan but this knife has a Japanese blade and the fit and finish is as good as any high end knife. The machined aluminum handle is a great piece of work and the liner is a different type I've never seen...almost a two piece at least on what you can see on the belly.

My impression is that the Venom is a extremely sturdy knife with a superb blade and excellent F&F. If they had just done something besides that Kraton insert.

But its all good. I like the knife enough to keep this thread going but it seems I'm a man alone with a favorable opinion of the Venom.

Is it the angle of the picture, or does the pocket clip actually sit that far over on the scale? It almost looks like the end of the clip goes past the scale.

It sits just like it looks. I hadn't noticed this before but it isn't an issue for me. It rides very nicely clipped in the back pocket. The clip's location doesn't affect my hand position. It did come set up up as a tip down and that has the clip slightly more to the center.
