I was faced with the same problem yesterday. I had both in hand and was examing each before I made up my mind and went for the JYDII. The good thing is that I couldn't screw up whichever way I had gone! Each knife had only one complaint for me and this is what I based the final decision on.
1. Lahar- I would have liked to have seen the same thickness liner's as the JYDII.
2. JYDII- I would have liked to have seen the same type of pocket clip as the Lahar.
Those were the ONLY complaints I had, and both are very small things.
As far as the lock on the JYDII goes, while I had the knife disassembled for polishing and relubing, I went ahead and gave the locking liner a bit of a tweak by giving it a tiny bit of additional bend. This is something I usually end up doing to a lot of knives I own. The result of this was a stiffer lock and a lock that sits flush to the left side of the blade tang. This is a VERY secure lock.
I also redid the pocket clip with my Dremel and then added some 3M Stair Tread tape to it as a finishing touch and to make withdrawing the knife from my pocket easier.
